The compact sealed FACEX-1 Fire Alarm and Fire Extinguisher Control Module has a dash footprint of only 48 x 96 mm, is flush mount & 125mm deep.

The Full System Status Display is back illuminated by LED lightbars for instant status recognition. The five sealed touch switches provide reliable control even in dirty, dusty or wet environments.

System continuously monitors the detector,, the BGA manual release switch & extinguisher electrical release circuits for faults that could prevent operation, DE T, BGA or CYL FAULT operate to warn of fault.

Manual and automatic modes of extinguisher operation are selectable by sealed Touch Switch on the panel facia. A remote mode control input can connect to an ignition switch to automatically select manual mode of release when in use, or linked to make system manual release only.

In MANUAL mode, on detection of a fire condition, (operation of a fire detector) the Red FIRE indication flashes, accompanied by the local audible fire alarm & remote alarm output. These alarms latch on until manually reset.
The extinguisher release does not start until the manual release switch is operated. If Automatic mode of operation is selected when a fire detector operates or the manual release switch is operated, then an adjustable delay of 0.4 to 40 seconds is applied to the fire extinguisher release circuit, and the IMMINENT indication flashes. This is to allow time for evacuation and shutdown before the fire extinguisher is released.

During thisIMMINENT delay the Gas Stop switch can be operated, to stop the Fire Extinguisher discharge and reset the delay timer. The GAS STOP status will illuminate accompanied by local audible warning.

At the end of the IMMINENT delay, if Gas Stop switch is not operated, the fire extinguisher is released to extinguish the fire and accompanied by illumination of the RELEASED status indication and audible alarm warning.

EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS.
On the rear of the FACEX-1 Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Control panel, there is a 13 way plug-in terminal for connection of all external circuits -

Note: This circuit should be wired in shielded FR cable and with 0.1uf filter capacitor fitted across extinguisher electrical actuator, to minimise build up of RF capacitance which could actuate system.
