FD 2 TWO CIRCUIT FUME DETECTION, ALARM &
FAN CONTROLLER
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
The ITIM Systems FD-2 is a fully monitored Two Circuit Fume Detection,
Alarm and Fan Control System with remote On/Off Fan control, bargraph
display of % LEL, with audible and visual alarms and automatic
blower fan start when fumes are detected. Housed in a compact,
flush mounted, display Module, it features sealed touch switch
controls for greater reliability & LED backlit system status
display for instantaneous status recognition. |
|
OPERATION FD-2 When
Power is first switched On to the FD-2 Fume Detection & alarm
system, there will be a short WAIT delay while the sensors warm-up
to operating temperature. The SAFE LED will illuminate when the
system is operational, and detects a safe fume level at both sensors.
Pressing either FAN On/Off switch will turn that Blower Fan On
or Off manually. If Fumes are detected that blower fan will turn
on automatically to clear the fumes. FAN ON LEDs illuminate.
If fumes are detected, (SENSOR 1)
or (SENSOR 2) status will
Flash to identify its source. The audible and visual alarms will
latch On & that Blower Fan will be latched On.
|
ISOL To acknowledge
& silence the alarm, press the ISOL/RESET switch once, ISOL
LED illuminates. To reset the alarm latches and return system
to normal, press the ISOL/RESET switch again.
FAULT The fume sensing circuits
are both continuously monitored for faults. If a fault develops
in a fume sensor, or the sensor wiring, the appropriate FAULT
status will illuminate, accompanied by a steady fault tone.
TEST Pressing the TEST switch
starts a test sequence to test all alarm and fault monitoring
functions, including alarm latches and fan On latches plus isolate
and reset functions.
FUME SENSOR ASSEMBLIES. In
a petrol fume type installation with heavier than air fumes, sensors
should be mounted at low level near risk area ie near engines
and fuel tanks.
Do not mount in wet area of bilge as water will damage sensor.
If used to detect fumes of lighter-than-air gases such as Methane
or battery fumes then the Fume Sensor assemblies should be mounted
at a high level where fumes could collect.
The system should be left in the SAFE
operating condition. Fans switched manully as required
Manufactured with pride in Australia in accordance with AG 601-1998
appendix K.
